Asaan at Misk Global Forum 2024: A First Public Glimpse of Heritage Alive

Asaan proudly makes its debut at this year’s Misk Global Forum (MGF), marking its first-ever public appearance in a momentous step toward realizing its vision of honoring Saudi Arabia’s timeless heritage and be a home for coming generations to co-create its future. Under the theme “Heritage Alive, Empowered by Youth,” Asaan’s participation aligns seamlessly with MGF’s 2024 tagline, “By Youth, For Youth,” reinforcing the museum’s commitment to engaging the next generation of heritage custodians.

A Journey of Rediscovering Heritage

At the heart of Asaan’s participation is the idea of reimagining Saudi Arabia’s cultural legacy through dynamic youth-led initiatives. The museum’s upcoming public programming and learning programs (available ahead of its 2027 grand opening) are designed to inspire the youth and future leaders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to inspire the future of Saudi’s intangible and tangible heritage.

Panel Discussion

Thought leaders and creatives, including renowned personalities such as Ebtisam Al Gosaibi and HRH Princess Nourah Al Faisal, and Nadine Attar will delve into the transformative power of heritage-driven artistic production. Attendees will explore the intersection of heritage and contemporary creativity, showcased through an innovative digital exhibition that features intricate jewelry designs inspired by Saudi heritage.

Storytelling Workshop

This workshop will bring Saudi youth face-to-face with experts in film and storytelling, such as producer and director Mahmoud Kaabour and Chantal Feghali. The workshop will focus on capturing stories and intangible heritage through digital tools, empowering participants to use modern mediums to communicate the richness of Saudi Arabia’s culture.

Interactive Booth

Asaan’s booth will be an immersive experience that invites MGF participants to engage with heritage in a contemporary setting. The interactive features will provide a glimpse of Asaan’s community programming, offering insights into the museum’s efforts to create a sustainable connection between past and future generations.

HRH Princess Sara's Vision for Asaan
